Tracy Henke - Founder

Tracy began her nonprofit career at the age of 24. She has had the privilege to do this work for nearly 20 years, along with stints as the owner of a pet sitting company & as a car mechanic (both were excellent experiences!). Throughout all her adventures, she's accrued significant expertise in nearly all aspects of nonprofit operations. She can help your organization with:

  • Strategic planning & governance

  • Budget creation & management

  • 501(c)3 establishment & compliance

  • Network & coalition building

  • Board recruitment & training

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, with extended family in Jackson & Milan, Tracy’s upbringing instilled the value of relationships, the strength of communities, the joy of working with your hands & getting dirty, & the serenity that hard but meaningful work can bring. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Leadership & Social Change, with intensive minors in Women's Leadership & English Literature. (She also was just 2 courses away from minors in Biology & Chemistry.)

Tracy lives in Waynesboro, Virginia with her husband Justin, oldest son Eli, youngest son Maxim, 2 dogs (Red & Stitch), 2 cats (Maka & Nami), & about 10,000 houseplants. When not working, she loves traveling, hanging out in Cape May, NJ, cross-stitching, watching documentaries, hiking, vegetarian cooking, & pretty much any adventure with her family.
